As winter finally loosens its grip and the days grow longer, we reach a moment of perfect balance—Ostara, the Spring Equinox. Celebrated this year on the 20th of March in the Northern Hemisphere, this ancient festival marks the turning point where day and night stand equal, and from here, the light begins to overtake the darkness.

Ostara, rooted in Pagan traditions, takes its name from the Germanic goddess Eostre, a deity associated with dawn, renewal, and fertility. Her symbols, eggs, hares, and blooming flowers, echo the themes of rebirth and growth, many of which have been absorbed into modern springtime celebrations like Easter.

This time of year invites reflection and intention. Just as seeds begin to stir beneath the soil, so too can we plant the beginnings of our own goals and dreams. It’s a time for cleansing, setting intentions, and reconnecting with nature’s rhythm. Many celebrate by decorating eggs, walking in the woods, tending gardens, or simply welcoming the sun with open arms.

Ostara reminds us that change is constant, and growth often begins in quiet, unseen places. As the earth awakens, so can we be refreshed, renewed, and ready to bloom.

Happy Ostara / Spring Equinox 🌼
